British Library images

The British Library has released over one million images onto Flickr Commons. The images have been taken from 17th, 18th and 19th century books and cover a huge mix of subjects. They include comic satire, illustrations, maps, geological diagrams, landscapes, wall paintings and much more. The images are available for anyone to use, remix and repurpose.

The British Library is currently investigating new ways to navigate, discover and display these images which are available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/britishlibrary
