Research training sessions

The library is offering a series of tailored training sessions for researchers this semester. The sessions will help you make the most of the range of resources available to you and provide tips on keeping up-to-date with the latest information in your field.

All sessions are in the Headington Library training room. There is no need to pre-book. The following sessions will be running this semester:
Information at your desktop: finding your way around the Electronic Library
This session provides details of the range of electronic resources available to you, including electronic journals, journal collections, databases and reference material:
Thursday 14 October 12.00 – 13.00 and Tuesday 2 November 12.00 – 13.00
Keeping up-to-date
Keep abreast of new research and development in your subject area: find out how to keep up-to-date with new publications in journals, books, conferences and more; track your research using the Web of Science citation indexes:
Friday 22 October 12.00 – 13.00 and Monday 8 November 12.00 – 13.00

EndNote reference management software (desktop version)
We are offering two different sessions this semester: Tuesday 16 November 12.00 – 13.00
This session will provide an introduction to the key features of EndNote X3

EndNote drop-in sessions: Thursday 25 November and Tuesday 7 December 12.00 – 13.00 to help you with your EndNote questions and problems. Bring along any queries you have and a copy of your EndNote library and associated Word documents - there will be an opportunity to do some practical work.

The Library is also offering EndNote Web introductory training sessions. This web-based version of EndNote is available to all Brookes students and staff from anywhere. The sessions will be held from 12.00 to 13.30 in the Headington Library Training Room. Booking is not required.
Wednesday 13 October, Tuesday 26 October, Friday 12 November, Monday 22 November, Thursday 9 December.
